Wolf Moon

Wolf Moon
—Míchealín Ní Dhochartaigh
(Also known as the Old Moon, Moon After Yule, Full Snow Moon,* Birch(Beth Moon) Full Travel Moon, Full Dying Grass Moon, Wild Wolf Moon)

This January moon is named for the wolf for two reasons: it occurs during the time of the year when food is scarce thus bringing the wolves into the villages in search for food, and the wolf pack is representative of the family. Wolves keep the same families for life.

This is the time to spend time and make peace with family, blood relatives, extended family and family figures. Wear shades of burgundy or rose, and burn rose or burgundy-coloured candles. Alternatively, pine incense is also acceptable. These colours represent family, love and togetherness. Now is the time to resolve issues that have weighed heavily upon your family or that you have been unable or unwilling to address or accept.

This full moon is in the astrological sign cancer. Use this moon toexplore previous lives, make a connection with the past or to renew old traditions.

Tiger Lilies

I like not ladies slippers,
Nor yet the sweet pea blossoms,
Nor yet the flaky roses,
Red, or white as snow;
I like the chaliced lilies,
The gorgeous tiger-lilies,
That in our garden grow!

For they are tall and slender:
Their mouths are dashed with carmine,
And when the wind sweeps by them,
On their emerald stalks
They bend so proud and graceful
They are Circassian women,
The favourites of the Sultan,
Adown our garden walks!

And when the rain is falling,
I sit beside the window
And watch them glow and glisten
How they burn and glow!
O for the burning lilies,
The tender Eastern lilies,
That in our garden grow!

Precious Stones By Christina Georgina Rossetti

An emerald is as green as grass;
A ruby red as blood;
A sapphire shines as blue as heaven;
A flint lies in the mud.
A diamond is a brilliant stone,
To catch the world's desire;
An opal holds a fiery spark;
But a flint holds fire.

A Vagabond Song

THERE is something in the autumn that is native to my blood—
Touch of manner, hint of mood;
And my heart is like a rhyme,
With the yellow and the purple and the crimson keeping time.
The scarlet of the maples can shake me like a cry
Of bugles going by.
And my lonely spirit thrills
To see the frosty asters like a smoke upon the hills.
There is something in October sets the gypsy blood astir;
We must rise and follow her,
When from every hill of flame
She calls and calls each vagabond by name.

Good Morning Beautiful

"Man on Television?"
"Satellite, oh, satellite"
"Who sits upon our skies"
"How deep do you see when you spy into our lives?"
I know that God lives in everybody's souls
And the only devil in your world
Lives in the human heart
So now ask yourself
What is human
And what is truth?
Ask yourself
Whose voice is it
That whispers unto you?
From the cellars of your homes
From the tops of your city roofs
Ask yourself Whose voice is it
That whispers unto you?
Who is it? That turns your blood into spirit
And your spirit into blood Who is it?
That can reach down from above
And set yours souls ablaze with love
Or fill you with the insanity of violence
And its brother lust
Who is it?
Whose words have been twisted beyond recognition
In order to build your planet Earth's religions
Who is it?
Who could make your little armies of the left
And your little armies of the right
Light up your skies tonight
Now some of you may live
And some of you will die
But remember
Nothing in the world can kill you inside
For he is thinking of you
In your great cities of great solitude
Oh children you've still got a lot to fucking learn
The only path to heaven is via hell
Good morning beautifulGood morning beautiful
Good morning beautiful
Goodbye world

Living In The Summer Mountains

I have moved to this home of immortals
Wild shrubs bloom everywhere
In the front gardens, trees
Spread their branches for clothes racks
I sit on a mat and float wine cups
In the cool spring
Beyond the window railing
A hidden path leads away
Into the dense bamboo grove
In a gauze dress
I read among my disordered pile of books
I take a leisurely ride
In the painted boat
And chant poems to the moon
I drift at ease, for I know
The soft wind will blow me home.

Reach For Love

I came across these two little lightmovies last week and though I’ve already posted one I thought I’d post them both together as they are so lovely. They were both made by Mary Robinson Reynolds of the Light Movie Company.

I think they explain how I feel, what I understand life to be and they have beautiful images. The links are cut and paste but it’s worth the effort. The movies both have sound so if you are at work turn 'puter down! The music is by Charles Suniga ~ Spirit Rising ~ http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/suniga4

I’ve a busy day ahead but I wanted to show some Big Love to you all and wish you a happy Moon Day.

~ Remember ~ The Sabbath

As I flew through cyber space this morning I read an article on Dante’s Inferno, I had already been trying to avoid the Christian brigade who is, as ever on autosuggestion 666, well that’s what my total visitors for this month so far added up to yesterday. So I knew what to expect. I managed to steer clear of the Fundamentalists and the scripture quoters got short shift from me, quote from a book that was manipulated in translation by several people most notably James 1 of England. PAH I think not!

It never ceases to amaze me how naive Christians are, do what you’re told! Fear God! Be good in this life and accept your fate and you’ll be rewarded in heaven! Yeah right biggest con of all time! If someone told us they were going to buy our home from us, we must be good and patient and we would be paid after we died, in heaven would we credit their jape? Would we give them possession of our house?

Yet people seem quite happy to hand over their souls to an institution designed by the Romans to oppress citizens. The Roman church was then used by rulers to oppress the citizens of countries through out the world. People forget how important it is to be happy in the here and now and settle instead for a mythical place to aim for after they are dead!

Then the argument came again, did Jesus really exist? Pedants trawled over alleged evidence, more schism and bombast! If Jesus lived I send him my best wishes and sincere condolences for the wickedness that is carried out in his name, I am not a Christian I refuse to accept that my “sins” contributed towards the suffering and crucifixion of a fellow man. I take full responsibility for my own actions.

Life is short and I believe we have a duty to live it to the full, in the here and now.
By getting and spending we have laid waste to our powers, many people live only in the mundane of life, never loving a rainbow or watching a sprinkle of fairy dust and knowing which fairy kindly sent their gift! I could tell you secrets, watch your face glow with truth. Share a thought from eternity.

Hell! Give me hell! What has this planet become? A cruel and wicked place where children are not safe even in their own homes. I hear the elephants calling to me, their deepest rumbles shake my floor, they’re doing it you know they’re fighting back, Elephants in Africa who’s mothers were stolen from them are attacking people, never before have such wonderful creatures attacked, mob handed villages of men!

Innocents are suffering left, right and centre, we are all unhappy and our anger turns on each other, who the hell do we need to talk to stop this? To create a world that is kind, loving, nurturing? Or do we accept that it’s all too late? Nothing can change, no one cares and what does it matter anyway because we’ll all be dead soon.

See, gentle reader that’s the catch, there is nothing else only our one battered and hurt world, which ever dimension we dwell in here it’s still here. One World is all we’ve ever had, we might not live in the mundane for a while but every now and then we get pulled back to again perform our duties in the fray of life, we are all old souls we need to all remember, remember, remember.

We are here now to try again, to help in a task that was perhaps started by Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha, we have to share, to shine our lights, to open the door and let a stream of cosmic consciousness that has been knocking so patiently for so many years blaze through into reality. Let go of thought, you don’t need permission; you don’t need to warn the dark that you are coming, just be, and live your life.

I don’t think the doors will now be closed again, so be brave, peep through, someone will help you, share all they can with you, let go of all your conditioning and try and remember, if you remember pain and suffering, send it back into the ether, try your best to remember the life, remember what you once were and can be again.

A true soul.
